Who We ARe

Young Chefs Club is a cooking class for children aged 8-13 years old. It was born out of a passion to cook and share that passion with children using fresh ingredients. 

Young Chefs Club is led by Grace and Busola based in Brighton and Hove.

We demonstrate practical cooking skills for children so they can prepare healthy meals from scratch using fresh ingredients. Our classes are small and hands-on giving each child the opportunity to participate so they feel empowered and fulfilled. 

Our menus are diverse and unpretentious suited to little and growing hands. Classes are split into two age groups: 8-10 years old and 11-13 years old.

From kneading dough to presenting their masterpiece, every class builds independence and pride in their creations. No more fussy eaters – they'll be excited to try what they made!

The Aspiring Explorers (Ages 8-10)

  • Perfect For: Little hands starting their kitchen adventure.
  • What We Do: Simple, fun recipes focusing on mixing, exploring flavours, measuring, and decorating.
  • Duration: 2 hours.

The Master Chef Brigade (Ages 11-13)

  • Perfect For: Aspiring culinary stars ready for a challenge.
  • What We Do: Advanced skills like bread making, making sauces from scratch, chopping techniques
  • Duration: 3 hours.

What do you get for each class?

At the end of each class, your child will bring home samples of the meal they have cooked and a recipe card of the meal they cooked so they can replicate it at home. Each class lists out skills your child will learn

My name is Olubusola Akinosi, and I am a passionate chef with over ten years of professional experience in the culinary industry. My love for cooking began at the age of nine, when I first started exploring the joy of kitchen activities as a child. What began as simple curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion for creating delicious meals that bring people together.

Over the years, I have honed my craft both in Nigeria and in England, gaining a wealth of experience and developing a deep appreciation for the power of food to connect, comfort, and inspire.

Cooking, for me, goes beyond preparing meals — it’s about sharing love, creativity, and happiness through every dish I make. I take pride in using my skills across fine dining, private and corporate catering, and buffet services to create memorable culinary experiences. I’m also deeply committed to passing on my knowledge and inspiring others, especially the younger generation, to discover the value and joy of cooking as both a life skill and an art form.

From Kitchen Avoider to Passionate Home Chef

​I wasn’t always a natural in the kitchen—in fact, I avoided it like the plague! My cooking journey started the day I was tasked with making a family meal solo. That chaotic moment of wishing I had paid more attention to my mum quickly turned into a genuine passion for fresh ingredients and delicious results.

​Now, as a working parent, my mission is to make sure my three children don’t face the same panic I did. We’ve turned the kitchen into a classroom:

  • ​My 12-year-old is a confident baker, modifying recipes to suit her own brilliant (and sometimes ridiculous!) tastes.
  • ​My 10-year-old is the family’s resident Omelette Queen and expert ingredient guesser.
  • ​My 6-year-old proudly builds his own lunchboxes and helps me pick and prep herbs for dinner.

​We achieved this by dedicating time during school holidays and by being open to every suggestion they have. I want to share this journey with your children, helping them thrive in cooking healthy, nutritious meals for themselves and your whole family.
